Convicted Murderer Martin MacNeill Attempts Suicide in Prison

Less than one month after being convicted for killing his wife Michele MacNeill in the bathtub of their Utah home, Martin MacNeill reportedly attempted suicide in prison Thursday evening before guards intervened and brought him to the hospital.
According to a report from ABC News, MacNeill, who had practiced as a doctor, used the blade of a disposable razor to slice the femoral artery in his leg. “He was discovered early enough by guards so his injuries were not life-threatening,” Sgt. Spencer Cannon of the Utah County Sheriff’s Office told ABC News.
The Sheriff’s Office representative said MacNeill was expected to recover though he may remain in the hospital throughout the weekend.
