Cruz Trolls Trump for Threatening to Skip CNN Town Hall

Sen. Ted Cruz trolled Donald Trump for his threats Tuesday morning that he might sit out the Republican town hall scheduled for that night, saying, “Our friend Donald finds debates very, very stressful.”

Trump took to Twitter to suggest that he might sit out CNN’s town hall because the network had not been fair to him. (About two hours later, news broke that Trump’s campaign manager Corey Lewandowski was charged with battery.)

Wow, @CNN has nothing but my opponents on their shows. Really one-sided and unfair reporting. Maybe I shouldn’t do their town-hall tonight!

The town hall is scheduled to take place in Milwaukee, Wis., one week before the Badger State’s primary. Gov. Scott Walker has come out in support of Cruz. A RealClearPolitics average of polls in the state show the candidates are neck and neck.

The people of Wisconsin deserved to see a real debate between the two leading candidates, Cruz said, although he observed that “Donald prefers to communicate in 140 characters or less.”
