Daily Beast Piece Argues State Department Should Declare Election Results ‘A Hoax’

Daily BeastA Sunday piece from The Daily Beast suggested that the State Department should declare the results of the 2016 presidential election invalid.

“How Do We Know Our Elections Are Fair?” wrote Denver University professor Alan Gilbert. “In any other country, the U.S. State Department would declare the presidential election results a hoax: Clinton won initial exit polls—usually dead accurate—in four swing states,” declares the subheadline.

Gilbert argues that Green Party candidate Jill Stein “has done a public service in demanding that the votes be audited in Pennsylvania, Wisconsin, and Michigan. Even where paper trails exist, most states do not audit elections. It is important to know that the vote each of us casts is counted fairly.”

He continues, arguing that Clinton did better in exit polls than she actually ended up doing in the ballot box. “The U.S. State Department would challenge these suspicious results in any other country,” Gilbert writes, chastising the “corporate media” for not reporting on the deviation.
