Dem Rep. Goes the Full Olivia Pope in Very Bizarre Scandal Parody
Politicians don’t often display their sensen of humor, but last night at the Washington Press Club Foundation dinner, Congresswoman Donna Edwards appeared in a parody video of the hit D.C. show Scandal, in which she played a melodramatic Olivia Pope, juggling affairs between the fictional President of the United States and one very real and emotional political leader…
Edwards was the keynote speaker at the dinner, and showed the video before moving on to the jokes. She had a few zingers about Cialis and Michele Bachmann, among other things. Even Nancy Pelosi got a chance to do some comedy at the event too, getting in some jokes at the expense of Obamacare and Joe Biden.
But it’s the video that’s been getting the most attention, and in it a sitting member of Congress talks to the fake president while drinking out of a comically oversized glass of wine, before it’s revealed Edwards is not only having an affair with the Commander-in-Chief, but also with Speaker of the House John Boehner. Yep. That happened.
