Dem Rep. Steve Cohen Wants to Know if, Like Bruce, Caitlyn Jenner Is Also Republican

In a tweet that is somehow still online 30 minutes later, Rep. Steve Cohen (D-TN), asked his followers if Caitlyn Jenner is still a Republican after transitioning from male to female.

During last month’s interview with Diane Sawyer, Bruce Jenner confirmed that he identifies as a Republican, asking, “is that bad thing?” He even said he would call on Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell (R-KY) and House Speaker John Boehner (R-OH) to “help champion this cause,” saying, “I think they’d be very receptive to it.” There has yet to be any evidence that that is the case.

Cohen’s followers responded with some sharp rejoinders, including this one that explains the difference between gender reassignment and brain surgery:
