Caitlyn Jenner Breaks Record, Reaches 1 Million Twitter Followers Faster than Obama


When President Barack Obama launched his new @POTUS Twitter account last month, it quickly broke the world record for fastest to reach 1 million followers in just under five hours. Today, Caitlyn Jenner broke that record, reaching that milestone in just over four hours.

Jenner, who appears as a woman for the first time on this month’s Vanity Fair cover, has posted just two tweets, each receiving close to 200,000 retweets within the first few hours:

According to Twitter spokesperson Elizabeth Luke, there have already been more than 1.5 million tweets sent today about Caitlyn Jenner and her name currently sits at the top of Twitter’s national trending topics list.
