Dem Rep, Steve King Fight on Twitter over Remarks on Jewish Democrats
Rep. Steve Israel (D-NY) did not take too kindly to Rep. Steve King‘s (R-IA) controversial comments about American Jews and the Democratic Party. Appearing on Boston Herald radio, King said he doesn’t understand how Jewish Americans “can be Democrats first and Jewish second,” adding he believes anti-Semitism and “just plain liberalism” are both at work.
Israel, a Jewish Democrat himself, took to Twitter to lambast King for the comments and demand an apology:
I don't need Congressman Steve King questioning my religion or my politics. I demand an apology from him & repudiation from GOP. #dangerous

And King responded, standing by his remarks:
@RepSteveIsrael: Real men make such requests face 2 face & man 2 man. I defend Israelis from Leftists & misogynists. pic.twitter.com/GvX5XDftHx

Israel fired back rather quickly. (For reference, “mashugana” is a Yiddish term used to refer to something as crazy or bizarre.)
Good to know @SteveKingIA has become a Talmudic scholar on what defines Jews. Steve, you really are mashugana. Look it up.
