Dick Clark Dead At 82
TMZ is reporting that Dick Clark has died at the age of 82, reportedly of a massive heart attack. Details surrounding his death are unclear.
Clark, who had a long career in television, was known for hosting New Year’s Rockin’ Eve, which he created in 1962. He was forced to give up the hosting position after suffering a serious stroke in 2004. Ryan Seacrest took over in 2006.
Clark has been married three times, has three children and is survived by his current wife Kari Wigton.
UPDATE: Ryan Seacrest tweeted a eulogy to the departed TV star:
I am deeply saddened by the loss of my dear friend Dick Clark. He has truly been one of the greatest influences in my life.
