Drudge Report, Internet Freak Out Over Google’s Robot Reindeer Army

Matt Drudge‘s Drudge Report, as well as the rest of the Internet, is seriously freaked out right now. Why? Because Google X-owned Boston Dynamics posted a Christmas video to YouTube that provides an eerie glimpse of our robot-dominated future.

As Gizmodo points out, the three robots pulling Santa’s sleigh are Spot Bots, which are “the younger sibling to the company’s BigDog” robot.

Drudge et al. obviously aren’t that freaked out, but still… The 28-second video of a woman dressed as Santa Claus riding in a sleigh pulled by three robot stand-ins for reindeer is somewhat creepy, especially for anyone who has seen the Matrix trilogy.

It is interesting that no one has pointed out that Boston Dynamics’ Santa is a woman. I guess they’re all too distracted by the tripart robot menace.
