Eric Trump Jokes About ‘Laying Low’ After Saying David Duke Deserves a Bullet

eric-trumpEric Trump spoke on his father’s behalf today on Michigan’s Big Show, though he started by laughing off his comments about how former Ku Klux Klan leader David Duke deserves “a bullet.”

CNN’s K-FILE highlighted Friday’s show, during which, Michael Patrick Shiels started things off by asking Donald Trump‘s son about whether Syrian President Bashar al-Assad also deserves a bullet in the head. Both of them chuckled after that, though Trump responded “I’m not talking about anymore bullets, I’m laying low. Amazing.”

Shiel’s question referred to Trump’s comments from Thursday, when he responded to a comment from KHOW’s Ross Kaminsky by saying Duke “does deserve a bullet.” Shiels opined that Kaminsky wasn’t being fair by baiting Trump into his remarks, though Trump stated that “these aren’t good people, these aren’t good people.” Trump pivoted from there in order to talk about how his father will have a positive impact on inner-cities and African-Americans.

Trump’s relationship with Duke has been complicated to say the least, though the former Klansman has been an enthusiastic supporter of the mogul’s presidential campaign. Duke and others have connected Trump’s political movement to the rise of the alt-right, and the news broke this week about how Trump received the endorsement of the KKK’s official newspaper, The Crusader.
