Erick Erickson Reveals Serious Health Scare
After three days of a slowdown in online activity, conservative blogger and former RedState editor Erick Erickson released a statement indicating he’s in recovery from a serious deterioration in his health.
In a Resurgent blog titled “Trying Not to Die,” Erickson explained that he has been dealing with an increasing shortness of breath in his everyday activities for the past two months. As his condition deteriorated, several medical appointments were had, and his blood-oxygen level fell to 93%, Erickson’s cardiologist sent him to the hospital on Thursday for pulmonary hypertension:
I have not left the hospital since then. I only just got released from the CVICU to a private room today.
It is rather sobering to have doctors tell you that you should be dead.
Over the course of the past few weeks my lungs have been filling with blood clots. The technical term in the medical report is that my lungs are “showered” with clots. My blood oxygen level cratered to the point of numb lips and the act of putting shampoo in my hair was leaving me out of breath.
Erickson’s blog was accompanied by a Twitter statement, where he went into further details about his recovery as well as the lack of concern from Donald Trump fans who are aware of his displeasure with the mogul:
