Ex-Army Gen. on Trump ‘Killers’ Remark: May Be ‘Most Anti-American Statement’ Ever from a President

Retired U.S. Army General Barry McCaffrey had some pretty strong words in reaction to President Trump talking about how “we’ve got a lot of killers” in response to a question about Vladimir Putin.
“One can argue that’s the most anti-American statement ever made by the President of the United States––to confuse American values with Putin, who’s running a criminal oligarchy, who kills people abroad and at home, who imprisons journalists and takes away business property…”
He told NBC’s Hallie Jackson that such an equivalence is unbelievable, especially coming from the Commander-in-Chief.
