Ex-NBC Reporter: Media ‘Less Eager’ to Take on Obama than Bush
NPR’s David Folkenflik reported on the saga of ex-CBS reporter Sharyl Attkisson on Monday, and in addition to Attkisson, a former NBC News correspondent agreed that the media is “less eager” to pursue stories critical of this administration than the last one.
Lisa Myers used to be NBC’s chief investigative reporter (just as Attkisson worked as an investigative reporter at CBS before her departure), and she told NPR, “Overall, the mainstream media has been less eager to hold this administration accountable than it was to hold the Bush administration accountable.”
Myers also said that big investigative reporting is not as precious a network news commodity as it used to be, because that kind of reporting takes time.
