Firefighters Rescue American Student from Giant Vagina Sculpture

We all have our study-abroad stories, but one American exchange student in the German town of Tübingen might want to keep his to himself.

Over the weekend, over twenty firefighters were needed to extract the anonymous student from a giant vagina sculpture. The 32-ton marble structure by Peruvian artist Fernando de la Jara sits outside Tübingen University’s institute for microbiology and virology and is meant to be an embodiment of “the gateway to the world.”

Firefighters eventually extracted the man from the vagina, though Tübingen’s mayor couldn’t imagine what possessed him to get in there in the first place, “even when considering the most extreme adolescent fantasies. To reward such a masterly achievement with the use of 22 firefighters almost pains my soul.”
