Florida Prison Workers Affiliated with KKK Charged with Plotting to Kill Black Inmate
Three men affiliated with the Florida Department of Corrections, who also happened to be members of the Ku Klux Klan, were arrested today and charged with plotting to kill a black prisoner.
The Orlando Sentinel reports that the three men — Thomas Jordan Driver, David Elliot Morgan, and Charles Thomas Newcomb — will each be charged with one count of conspiracy to murder. (Driver and Morgan are both current employees of the DOC; Newcomb is a former employee.)
According to Attorney General Pam Bondi, the men, all members of the had allegedly plotted to murder an inmate after his release from prison in “retaliation for a fight between the inmate, who is African American, and Driver.”
