Florida’s Marion County Puts Confederate Flag Back Up After Removing It

confederate flagCommissioners in one Florida county voted unanimously to put the Confederate flag back up after it was taken down last week.

Amid all the national discussion surrounding the Confederate flag and how the Charleston shooting got people to re-evaluate it, the Confederate flag flying at the Marion County, Florida government complex was taken down and replaced with a flag bearing the county seal.

But according to WKMG, the board of county commissioners voted unanimously to put the flag back up.

OCALA also reports that the flag will be accompanied by “historical information… so that people can understand the significance of the Confederate flag as well as the other flags flying in front of the complex.”
