GOP Sen. Candidate’s Modest Proposal: Move the Capital from D.C. to Nebraska

Maybe the best fix for “This Town” is to just move it to another town. Case in point, a Republican running for Senate in Nebraska proposed a radical new idea: move the nation’s capital from Washington, D.C. to Nebraska in order to keep it as far away from the corruptive swamp that D.C. has developed a reputation of being.

In a new ad, Sass says that moving the capital may by the only cure to the “incredible ineffectiveness and dysfunction of both parties in Washington,” so that they can be closer to the Americans they’re supposed to be fighting for, not to mention they would “leave the lobbyists and the influence peddlers back east.”

Sass acknowledged to The Washington Times that this is just a pipe dream and “thought experiment,” because a majority of Congress would never, ever embrace the idea in a million years.
