GOP State Rep. Admits He Accidentally Shot a Fellow Hunter: ‘I Just Felt Horrible’
An Oklahoma state lawmaker admitted that he accidentally shot someone while out hunting last month. State Representative Steve Vaughan was out shooting and tried to hit a pheasant, but accidentally hit another in the side of the head with his shotgun.
He said, “I just felt horrible about it. I just was sick.” For what it’s worth, the hunter in question, Drew Ihrig, said it’s just a minor injury and he knows it was an accident, saying “I hold no ill will at all.”
Vaughan, according to The Oklahoman, wrote legislation three years ago to expand the rights of gun owners to allow them to use deadly force if they have a reasonable fear great harm will come to them.
