Greta Van Susteren Explains Why Fox News Never Wins Any Emmys
In response to a reader’s comment, Fox News host Greta Van Susteran explained on her GretaWire blog why CNN and MSNBC netted Emmy nominations this year, while her employer did not.
“This year’s Emmy nominations in ‘News & Documentaries’ in the 8pm ET time slot on cable channels- Anderson Cooper CNN- 10 Chris Hayes MSNBC- 2, Bill O’Reilly FNC- zero,” a commenter wrote on one of her blog posts.
“There is a reason O’Reilly not considered — he did not apply,” Van Susteren responded from her own Disqus account. “You have to [apply] for these awards like an Emmy and Fox does not.”
“And think about this: who votes?” she continued. “It is those in the media who are not fans of Fox News so even if Fox News were to apply, it won’t win.”
Van Susteren concluded that “we prefer to be judged by our viewers. And the viewers? They say we are #1.”
