Greta Van Susteren Goes on Twitter Tear About…College Libraries?
Yesterday, Greta Van Susteren, a former anchor from Fox News, used her Twitter to post something attention-grabbing. (She does that a lot.)
In response to a tweet from Yahoo asking what could stop college from getting more expensive, she said this:
Colleges should stop building vanity projects like huge libraries and billing students-full libraries are on our smartphones! https://t.co/QBeVKZvIKZ

The interesting anti-library stance was immediately met with pushback by paperback purists:
@greta This is a common misconception. The digital divide and disparity in digital readiness mean libraries are more important than ever.

@greta Full libraries may be on our phones, but are kids reading any books anymore? Hard to read a book when you’re texting and doing selfies

She clarified that she’s just not into new buildings being built to accommodate libraries:

The debate on libraries continued:

This isn’t even a problem we had considered until now. So, what do you think? What’s your opinion on colleges and libraries?
