Hannity to Obama: ‘That’s Not What I Said’ About Immigration Reform

Yesterday, President Barack Obama brought up Sean Hannity while speaking at the Congressional Hispanic Caucus Institute’s annual gala, and joked that the Fox host’s political positions had shifted due to the massive growth of America’s Latino population. “In 2012, Latinos voted in record numbers,” he said. “The next day, even Sean Hannity changed his mind and decided immigration reform was a good idea.”

Hannity, of course, could not let that go unanswered.

“That’s not what I said, and I was interviewed repeatedly about this,” Hannity protested on his radio show today. “Interview after interview, I’ve said what I’ve said for years: secure the border first. And I said, this is being used as a weapon by the left and take out of their hands by securing the borders, and then you deal with the 11 million people after. and no one has ever supported, ever, executive orders.”

Later, while he was taking a call from a listener worried about enterovirus and ebola, Hannity decided to repeat himself: “By the way, speaking of immigration, my position has always been: secure the borders first.”
