Tucker Carlson Blasts ‘Activist’ Brian Stelter For ‘Disseminating’ Viral Delta Video
Thursday on Fox News, Tucker Carlson made it clear: He believes CNN’s senior media correspondent Brian Stelter recklessly jumped the gun by retweeting the controversial Youtube video taken on board a Delta flight which went viral on Wednesday morning.
The video featured a Youtube prankster named Adam Saleh claiming to be kicked off of a Delta flight for speaking Arabic, though the airline concluded in its investigation that Saleh was engaging in “provacative behavior.”
In an interview with The Hill media reporter and former Mediaite columnist Joe Concha, Carlson said that Stelter, who regularly urges news organizations to proceed with caution in cases such as these, failed to practice what he preaches by not googling Saleh to discover his history of posting similar videos.
“He’s the guy always jumping up and down about how other news organizations are irresponsible,” Carlson said. “And before you tweet something out you oughta check, and double-check. ‘That’s journalism! Double-checking!’ To make certain it’s true. It seems like he had a hand in disseminating a hoax!”
Carlson went on to question Stelter’s ability to hold his position as a media critic at CNN, given that Stelter has what the Fox News anchor feels is a strong progressive bias.
“This was a guy who spent a year flacking for Hillary Clinton,” Carlson said. “I was convinced he wanted to be her press secretary. How does he get to pose as a media critic on a purportedly nonpartisan news network?” Carlson said.
