Here Are the Fireworks Laws for Each American State
As anyone who lives in the New York/New Jersey metropolitan area knows, the smuggling of fireworks from neighboring states (mostly Pennsylvania) is a common thing to do the week of Independence Day. But those two states aren’t the only ones that prohibit the sale of consumer fireworks.
For a handy reference to your state’s fireworks laws, check out the below map from the American Pyrotechnic Association showing where you can stock up on your Mighty Mortars and Red, White, and Booms. And for a more in-depth look at your state’s local laws, check out their directory here.
Allow this companion piece to serve as a warning for those of you who do purchase fireworks this weekend: Be safe and be smart.
