Here’s the Schedule for Tonight’s PBS/CNN Democratic Debate
Live from the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee tonight, PBS Newshour will be hosting the first Democratic presidential debate following the New Hampshire primary earlier this week. Vermont Senator Bernie Sanders will square off against former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton one-on-one for only the second time this campaign, and the event will be broadcast by CNN as well.
The debate comes just two days after Sanders defeated Clinton by a wide margin in New Hampshire, and renewed interest in the self-described Democratic-Socialist is providing a bump of momentum heading into the Nevada Caucuses on February 20.
The moderators for the DNC-sanctioned debate will be Gwen Ifill and Judy Woodruff beginning at 9 p.m. ET. CNN will carry a live broadcast of the event, followed by a special edition of Anderson Cooper 360 at 11:00 p.m. ET.
The event will be live streamed online at pbs.org/newshour.
Washington D.C.’s public television station WETA is also cosponsoring the debate. WETA President and CEO Sharon Percy Rockefeller said of the event, “It is fitting that two of America’s finest journalists will guide this candidates’ debate, which will take place just days after the Iowa Caucuses and New Hampshire Primary… We look forward to an illuminating, engaging debate that will enrich the national political dialogue and reflect PBS NewsHour’s fundamental mission to inform and educate the public.”
