High Schoolers Choose a Unique Prom Theme: Communism

You know how high school proms have cutesy themes like “Enchantment Under the Sea” or something? Well, seniors at Cottonwood Classical Preparatory School voted on a slightly different theme for theirs.

Communism.

No, seriously, they voted and the theme of the dance is now “Prom-munism.” (Others wanted “A Night in the Reef.”)

Surprisingly, not every student is amused by the idea. One said they shouldn’t have such a “powerful and destructive idea” as a theme, another called it inappropriate, but one school official said they plan to “honor the students’ voices.”

Presumably, this communist-themed prom will ensure equal distribution of chips and punch, and abolish the idea of prom kings and queens.
