‘Resist, Persist, Insist, Enlist’: Hillary Clinton Announces New PAC ‘Onward Together’

Remember those reports about how Hillary Clinton was planning on launching a “resistance” PAC? Well, today the former presidential candidate took to Twitter to reveal her new political group called “Onward Together.”

The organization’s website invokes some of the protests that have taken place since Donald Trump was sworn into office, with the aim of channeling progressive outrage to get results (you may also notice a subtle little reference to the results of the popular vote):

Onward Together is dedicated to advancing the vision that earned nearly 66 million votes in the last election. By encouraging people to organize, get involved, and run for office, Onward Together will advance progressive values and work to build a brighter future for generations to come.

Citizen engagement at every level is central to a strong and vibrant democracy. In recent months, we’ve seen what’s possible when people come together to resist bullying, hate, falsehoods, and divisiveness, and stand up for a fairer, more inclusive America.

The site––which does have a donation page set up––also prominently features this quote from remarks of hers earlier this year:

Clinton’s tweets get more specific about the kind of groups she wants to support:

Earlier this month Politico reported on some of the behind-the-scenes planning before the announcement today:

The former secretary of state is building a new political group to fund organizations working on the resistance to President Donald Trump’s agenda, spending recent weeks in Washington, New York City, and Chappaqua, N.Y., meeting with donors and potential groups to invest in, and recruiting individuals for the group’s board of directors, multiple people close to the two-time White House hopeful and people familiar with the group’s planning told POLITICO.
