WATCH: President Donald Trump Addresses White House Press Pool (UPDATE)

UPDATE: The White House has now announced that Trump’s presser will not be streamed live. A video of his remarks will be aired afterwards on cable networks.

On yet another eventful day in Washington, President Donald Trump will speak with the White House press pool on Tuesday afternoon.

Monday’s briefing with Press Secretary Sarah Huckabee Sanders was highlighted by a pair of skirmishes. The press corps grilled Sanders over Trump’s “Pocahontas” slur against Sen. Elizabeth Warren (D-MA). Then they pressed the chief spokesperson on Trump’s reported denial of the infamous Access Hollywood. The session was tense, as so many of the daily briefings have been. Those topics could possibly resurface on Tuesday.

Another major subject of the President’s media session, presumably, will be the aborted meeting between Trump and Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer (D-NY) and House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi (D-CA). After the President tweeted on Tuesday morning about his scheduled summit with “Chuck and Nancy,” the leading Democrats bailed — saying, in a statement, that they refused to participate in what they deemed a “show meeting.”

With a government shutdown looming, the move only figures to escalate tensions between Trump and the two key Congressional Democrats. Via statement, Huckabee Sanders passed along the administration’s response to the Schumer and Pelosi snub.

“It’s disappointing that Senator Schumer and Leader Pelosi are refusing to come to the table and discuss urgent issues,” Sanders said. “The President’s invitation to the Democrat leaders still stands and he encourages them to put aside their pettiness, stop the political grandstanding, show up and get to work.”

Trump is scheduled to appear at 3:00 p.m. ET. Watch above, via The White House.

This post has been updated to reflect a change in the White House schedule, as Sanders was originally scheduled to brief the press at 3:00 p.mm, rather than the President. The briefing has been canceled.
