Honduras Arrests Five Syrians Trying to Enter U.S. With Stolen Passports

syrian-rebelsHonduran authorities have arrested five Syrian nationals who were trying to make their way to the United States with stolen Greek passports.

“The group of Syrian men was held late on Tuesday in the Honduran capital of Tegucigalpa on arrival from Costa Rica and they were planning to head to the border with neighboring Guatemala,” Reuters reports. “The passports had been doctored to replace the photographs with those of the Syrians.”

Details are still sparse about the men’s identities, or how they plan to enter the United States. But officials were careful to say that there is no evidence they are tied in any way to the perpetrators of Friday’s terrorist attacks in Paris.

This is a developing story…
