During a vote at the United Nations on Thursday, an interpreter who didn’t realize her microphone was still on was caught calling the nine resolutions condemning Israel “a bit much,” given the “bad sh*t” happening in the rest of the world.
“I mean, I think when you have five statements, not five, like a total of ten resolutions on Israel and Palestine, there’s gotta be something, c’est un peu trop, non? [It’s a bit much, no?] I mean I know… There’s other really bad sh*t happening, but no one says anything, about the other stuff.”
The interpreter apologized immediately after the statement.
“I understand there was a problem with interpretation?” the secretary asked, eliciting laughter among the 193 representatives.
