HuffPost Reporter, Fox’s Jesse Watters Reportedly Brawled at WHCD Afterparty

Amid all the White House Correspondents Dinner afterparties last night, there was apparently a scuffle between a Huffington Post reporter and Fox News’ man-on-the-street Jesse Watters.

HuffPost’s Ryan Grim tweeted some details last night of what happened:

Grim is referring to how Watters confronted his colleague Amanda Terkel a few years ago over a post she wrote about past controversial remarks of O’Reilly’s on the subject of rape victims. After Watters confronted her, Terkel wrote a piece titled “I Was Followed, Harassed, And Ambushed By Bill O’Reilly’s Producer.”

Washington Post reporter Dave Weigel posted a photo from the confrontation last night:

According to WaPo, the fight broke out after Grim tried to snatch his phone back from Watters. Here’s how it’s described:

No cinematic sparring or broken beer bottles, witnesses said, but the two flailed around a bit, upending a table and bumping into several people.

“Punches were definitely thrown,” said one witness.

Grim told WaPo in response, “Ambush guy can’t take getting ambushed. Maybe he should think about his life choices.”
