‘I’m Awesome’: Rick Perry’s Fun Day at the Fair

In the season finale of ABC’s Bachelorette this summer, it was suggested that the show’s third runner-up, Chris Soules of Iowa, would be the show’s next Bachelor. If that doesn’t work out, he may be able to make some kind of deal with Texas Gov. Rick Perry, should he run for president again.

On Tuesday, the Des Moine Register reported on the time Perry spent at the Iowa State Fair, a must-do for Republican presidential hopefuls. He talked with some potential supporters, ate some country fried bacon, and finished up a panel talk by telling the moderator, “I’m awesome.”

He also met Soules. “Enjoyed meeting Chris from the bachelor [sic] at the Iowa State Fair today,” Perry tweeted. He attached a photo of himself in what seems to be an deep conversation with Soules, who retweeted the picture.

Oh, to be a fly on that nearby fanny pack.

We’ve requested comment from Soules on the nature of his and Perry’s chat.
