In Dumbest Exclusive Ever, Politico Reveals Trump Might Be An Inch Shorter Than Claimed
This is a real story written by a real journalist:

“Donald Trump and his doctor claim he’s 6-foot-3, but his New York driver’s license says he’s actually an inch shorter,” Politico reports. “A copy of Trump’s license, obtained by Politico through an open-records request, lists the president-elect at 6-foot-2.” The Trump transition team declined to comment. Can’t imagine why.
Politico continues to speculate Trump and his doctor may have added the extra inch in his infamous doctor’s note to avoid Trump being classified as obese. Which doesn’t make sense to me: if Trump’s doctor was fudging the numbers, why not just subtract from his weight? Why would being barely obese be more politically damaging than nearly obese anyways? We all know the guy’s fat.
Allow me to suggest an alternate explanation: Trump’s height falls somewhere between 6’2″ and 6’3″, and like everyone, his exact height depends on the time of day. Speaking from personal experience, I fall riiiight between 5’11” and a nice, even six feet, and my driver’s license frustratingly goes with the lower number. (After pitching this column, one of my co-worker chimed in: “I just looked [at mine], it says I’m 5’9″…I’m really 5’10.”)
At least when we got those stupid stories on Marco Rubio‘s height, the debate was whether he was trying to hide the fact that he’s shorter than average. We’re now debating whether Trump is a half foot taller than the average American male, or only five inches. Any way you shake it, Trump’s pretty tall.
As I see it, it’s Trump’s critics who should be most worried by these kinds of stories. Knocking Trump for the immaterial and petty things only robs the media of its credibility when it sounds the alarm about the genuinely provocative and dangerous things he threatens to do.
By all means, Politico, continue to call out Donald Trump‘s falsehoods. But when your FOIA request brings up nothing of public value, maybe spare us next time?
