Israeli Amb. Tweets Netanyahu-Super Bowl Joke, Internet Not Amused
Ladies and gents, Israeli ambassador to the United States Ron Dermer:
Breaking Protocol, Choosing Sides: Go Patriots.
— Amb. Ron Dermer (@AmbDermer) February 1, 2015
If you’ve been living under le rock, Dermer is referring to House Speaker John Boehner’s (R-OH) invitation to Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu without consulting President Barack Obama, which the White House and some observers have termed a breach of protocol. In grade school-level revenge, Obama will not meet with Netanyahu while he’s in D.C., citing a disinclination to choose sides in the upcoming Israeli election. When you consider all of this you realize how impressive it is that Dermer so achieved the above singularity.
Not all of Twitter saw it that way:
@AmbDermer go fuck yourself

If only he was as good at growing bipartisan support for Israel as mocking it RT @AmbDermer: Breaking Protocol, Choosing Sides: Go Patriots.

Incidentally, there does seem to be a partisan breakdown over the teams in the Superb Owl, or at the very least their misbehavior. Nonetheless, you should root for the Seahawks... um.. Patriots
