It’s a Swing and a Hit for Chris Christie
Not too many people outside of New Jersey know that Governor Chris Christie served as the catcher for his high school baseball team. Since then, the potential 2016 GOP candidate hasn’t done as much sporting as spectating, but he’ll still talk baseball with anyone who’s willing to listen. Hell, he might even hit a few balls every now and then.
Like at Yankee Stadium on Wednesday night, where Christie and an all-star roster of celebrities played some ball for the True Blue Celebrity Softball. The charity game honored fallen NYPD officers Brian Moore, Rafael Ramos, and Wenjian Liu, who were all recently killed in the line of duty. Christie took to the mound and, unlike the titular Casey of the famous baseball poem “Casey at the Bat,” connected.
