Joe and Mika Hit Gillibrand for 180 on Clinton Allegations: ‘She Has to Deal With Her Clinton Issue’

“I actually like [Sen.] Kirsten Gillibrand (D-NY),” said Joe Scarborough Tuesday on Morning Joe.

And thus began a four-minute segment largely focused on knocking Kirsten Gillibrand.

Scarborough accused the New York Senator of hypocrisy for recent change in position on President Bill Clinton. The Morning Joe host clearly believes that if Hillary Clinton had won the White House, Gillibrand never would have said that Bill Clinton should have resigned during the Monica Lewinsky scandal — a comment she made recently.

“Does anybody believe Kirsten Gillibrand’s position on the Clintons would be what it is today if Hillary Clinton had been elected the president of the United States?” Scarborough asked rhetorically.

“No,” Mika Brzezinski promptly said.

“Kirsten Gillibrand who rode the Clintons’ wake for decades would still be riding in that wake right now,” Scarborough added. “Let’s just move that to the side, because everybody knows that’s true.”

But Brzezinski didn’t want to move the topic to the side.

“[Gillibrand] has to deal with her Clinton issue,” Brzezinski said. “She has to address the cameras and answer the question as to what was the motivation behind her change of opinion about the Clintons? Because for me, for the ten years that I have been on this show, I have been extremely critical and concerned about the Clintons because of their abuse of women. I don’t know how your position could change on this. And I’d like to know about that process.”

Scarborough added: “What else was out there that changed other than Hillary Clinton losing and the Clintons for the first time in 25 years being out of power of some sort?”
