Justin Bieber Apologizes for Snapping Picture at Japanese War Shrine

Here’s some news for you: Justin Bieber isn’t exactly that knowledgable about world affairs. Case in point, on his Japan trip he visited a Japanese war shrine honoring the nation’s fallen during World War II… including war criminals. Bieber visited the Yasukuni shrine and posted a photo to his Instagram from the scene. Well, Bieber was immediately reprimanded for going.

A spokesman for the Chinese foreign ministry condemned Bieber’s visit, saying, “I hope this Canadian singer, after his visit, can have some knowledge of the Japanese militaristic history of external aggression and their militaristic thinking.”

Well, Bieber eventually got wind that people were criticizing him and posted an apology on Instagram.

While in Japan I asked my driver to pull over for which I saw a beautiful shrine. I was mislead to think the Shrines were only a place of prayer. To anyone I have offended I am extremely sorry. I love you China and I love you Japan

Well, at least the U.S. isn’t planning on deporting him any time soon, so he’s got that going for him…
