Kate Middleton’s Family Tells Photo Agencies To Back Off
The family of Prince William’s fiancée, Kate Middleton, is speaking out through The Press Complaints Commission, telling photo agencies to exercise caution when photographing them. Middleton’s mother and sister have apparently been hounded by agency photographers following them on mopeds, and various gawkers trailing them on foot.
The Commission has reached out to newspapers, alerting them that that the Middleton family is “urging caution.” Furthermore, a spokesperson for St. James Palace has revealed that it would take action if an agency photographer were to pursue the famous couple, whose wedding is slated for April 29th:
We are gratified that the media continues to behave in a responsible fashion in the run-up to the wedding and we look forward to their ongoing co-operation.
If a photographic agency pursues or harasses the couple, we will take a very hard line.
Middleton’s family has been the focal point of the press for some time now: ET.com, for example, asks “Who is Pippa Middleton?,” devoting space to information on Middleton’s younger sister, a writer and socialite. Vanity Fair features a slideshow of Middleton’s various family members, noting that they’ve been chided by the British press as being “gauche climbers.”
You may remember that Prince Williams’ mother, the late Princess Diana, was believed to have been killed after her car was chased by paparazzi.
