Katy Tur Calls Out White House for Three-Hour Briefing Delay: They’re in a ‘World of Trouble’

The patience of cable news anchors seems to be wearing thin as they deal with what now seems to be the almost daily ritual of the White House delaying the press briefing by as many as several hours.

On Tuesday, CNN Brooke Baldwin slammed the White House for using various Cabinet speakers to deflect attention from the hot-button issues of the day. And now, following yet another hours-long wait to hear from Press Secretary Sarah Huckabee Sanders, MSNBC’s Katy Tur is sounding off.

After the White House announced the rescheduled Wednesday briefing time of 4:00 p.m. ET (this following a postponement to 2:30 of a session initially scheduled for 1:00), Tur blasted the West Wing communications shop.

“This happens when you figure out what exactly you’re going to say to intense questioning from the group in there,” Tur said, referring to the White House press corps. “The group of White House correspondents who don’t seem to let things go when they don’t make any sense.”

The MSNBC anchor added, “This White House is in a world of trouble right now when it comes to this Rob Porter story.”

After days of keeping mum on the issue, President Donald Trump finally made a statement Wednesday declaring his opposition to domestic violence. Katy Tur seems to believe that statement will do little to keep the White House from evading the press.

“We’ll see what the White House has come up with at 4:00 p.m. this afternoon,” she said. “Unless they move it back even further.”
