Kellyanne Conway’s Husband Being Considered by Trump for US Solicitor General

It appears that one of President-elect Donald Trump’s top advisers may see her spouse hired on in one of the top positions in the Justice Department.

According to Bloomberg, corporate lawyer George Conway is up for consideration for the post of US Solicitor General. Conway’s wife is Kellyanne Conway, former Trump campaign manager and soon-to-be White House counselor. Solicitor General is considered the third-highest ranking Justice position and is the nation’s top appellate attorney.

As Bloomberg noted, Conway would not be a normal choice due to his lack of experience arguing in front of the Supreme Court.

Conway would represent an unusual choice for solicitor general. His law firm biography lists only one Supreme Court case he has argued — a 2010 dispute involving the overseas reach of federal securities law. People who have held the post previously have generally had extensive Supreme Court experience, or, like former Harvard Law School Dean Elena Kagan, served in a prominent academic position.

Per CNN this evening, Conway is “on the shortlist of candidates” and sources say that he would accept the post if selected by Trump.
