Laura Ingraham Baselessly Claims Mueller Office Tipped CNN about Roger Stone Raid

Fox News’ Laura Ingraham is claiming without evidence that Robert Mueller‘s people told CNN ahead of time that they were going to arrest Roger Stone today.

As Stone was taken into custody on charges of obstruction, false statements and witness tampering, CNN was on the scene Friday morning to take footage of FBI officials making the arrest. Since the network was the only outlet with a reporter outside of Stone’s Florida house last night, Ingraham declared that it must’ve been a tip-off from the special counsel, and that they’ve supposedly made their motivations clear.

If we put Ingraham aside, there are a number of public figures asking questions about how CNN obtained their exclusive footage.

As Mediaite‘s Julio Rosas noted, CNN producer David Shortell says he went to Stone’s house yesterday after noticing “unusual grand jury activity” in Washington D.C. that seemed like it had something to with Stone.

“We also had some other signs that maybe something was going on this angle, the Roger Stone angle,” Shortell said. “So we showed up at his house this morning, we were the only ones there, and lo and behold the FBI agents did come and arrest him.”
