Laura Ingraham Blasts Anti-Gun Student Walkouts: ‘MoveOn.org’ Could’ve Written This ‘Anti-Trump Diatribe’
On Wednesday night, Laura Ingraham sounded off on the nationwide student walkouts in an effort to push for gun control.
She began by saying that her “curiosity” encouraged her to watch these student activists and politicians participate in this giant demonstration, but told her viewers to not be “fooled” into thinking that these protests were an “organic outpouring of youthful rage” because it was “choreographed” by the youth wing of the Women’s March called “Empower.”
“You’ve got to hand to them, really,” Ingraham said. “Leftists do know how to organize and protest. Students took part by the thousands… eh, who needs homework and history when you can get credit for screaming?”
The Fox News host said these students were “enabled by a familiar cast of characters” that included Sen. Bernie Sanders (I-VT), Gov. Andrew Cuomo (D-NY), and House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi (D-CA).
“Look, you’ve heard of like ‘Take Your Child to Work Day,’ well for the anti-Trump, anti-2nd Amendment crowd, this was ‘Make Your Student Protest Day,” Ingraham continued. “Like there’s nothing worse than people who use their kids to advance a political agenda. Like many school districts, teachers, administrators, and local politicians supported this walk-out. The demonstrations were supposed to last 17 minutes to honor each of the Parkland victims, but some of these things went on for hours and sometimes they took on an even festival kind of party atmosphere.”
Ingraham then played a clip of student activist who blasted President Trump for implying that the solution to guns is “more guns” and that there is a “moral problem in this White House.”
“Oh my goodness, so much for honoring the victims,” Ingraham reacted. “This was nothing but a left-wing anti-Trump diatribe. You peel it all back. And it could have been written by anyone at MoveOn.org.”
She concluded that while political activism is “terrific,” she encouraged students to not protest during school hours because their education “is far more important than any march.”
