Lil Jon Didn’t Get His Absentee Ballot, Had to Fly Cross-Country to Vote

Rapper Lil Jon made his mark on the 2014 election by creating this video called “Turn Out For What,” encouraging voter participation by dropping some dirty beats. Unfortunately, through no fault of his own, he nearly could not Turn Out because Georgia didn’t send him his absentee ballot.

According to National Journal, Lil Jon, the current spokesman for Rock the Vote, flew overnight from Los Angeles to Georgia to vote at his local polling station.

“6AM FLIGHT TO ATL TO VOTE BECAUSE GA NEVA SENT MY BALLOT AFTER NUMEROUS CALLS!!!”he wrote on Instagram in his normal voice, while still on the plane. “U CANT DISCOURAGE ME! #VOTETODAY @TURNOUTFORWHAT #ROCKTHEVOTE”

So that’s what he turned out…for.
