Lindsey Graham: I’m Willing to Make ‘Deal’ With Dems on Shutdown After Clemson Win

While riding the high of the Clemson Tiger’s second National Football Championship in three seasons, Senator Lindsey Graham (R-SC) said he’s willing to make a deal with Democrats on Capitol Hill and end the government shutdown.

When asked by TMZ how he’s balancing the high of the championship and the uncertainty of the government’s funding, he told the outlet:

“Number one, you celebrate what I think was pone of the most stunning performances I’ve seen by a college football team and celebrate the culture created at Clemson that leads to outcomes like this and remember that to be successful you have to be a team — and so, I’m gonna take that attitude about trying to bring the Congress together and see if i can find a way to fund the border wall and people like DACA recipients.”

“There’s a deal to be had,” he added. “Secure that border with a wall component, help the Dream Act population [and others] who have been here for decades who are about to lose their legal status and do some legal reforms and call it a day.”

The lawmaker, who did not attend Clemson and instead graduated from the school’s in-state rival USC, concluded by offering to reach across the aisle due to his mood after the game.

“After the football game, I’m in a good mood, so if you’re a Democrat, give me a call,” Graham said.

Clemson blew out Alabama for the championship last night, defeating the formerly reigning national champ’s in a 44-16 rout.
