Mavis Staples Leaves a Voicemail for the Colbert Nation

Towards the end of Stephen Colbert‘s epic finale this week, he thanked iconic gospel singer Mavis Staples and asked her to call everyone else in America for him. And while that didn’t necessarily happen, she did end up leaving a very nice voicemail for the Colbert Nation.

The voicemail was posted to the website MavisCalling.com after the finale, and explains she was trying to reach everybody in America, but they all were busy.
