MSNBC’s Melissa Harris-Perry Responds To Limbaugh, Palin, Beck With Simple Bible Reference

MSNBC’s Melissa Harris-Perry took on a barrage of criticism from the right this week after a new promo aired that showed her arguing for the collective responsibility of raising children. But so far, at least, Harris-Perry has taken the high road, not exactly defending her promo, but not firing back at her critics either.


Harris-Perry posted the simple tweet below to her account last night:

For anyone who knows their Bible verses, you may recognize the passage as, “Love your enemies and pray for those who persecute you.”

The MSNBC host took her fair share of persecution for what some conservatives are viewing as a threat on their rights to control their own children. Glenn Beck called the promo “almost a parody of reality.” Rush Limbaugh called her views “Marxist.” And in a tweet of her own, Sarah Palin demonstrated her unique brand of outrage:
