Michael Reagan: ‘My Father Would Be Appalled’ by Donald Trump

michael reaganMichael Reagan, one of Ronald Reagan‘s children, said yesterday that if his father was alive to see Donald Trump‘s campaign, he would be “appalled.”

Reagan spoke with Newsmax’s J.D. Hayworth yesterday about Trump’s ascendance, and Reagan said, “My father would be appalled by what’s going on with this campaign.” He said that all the personal attacks Trump is throwing out doesn’t actually get to the heart of how one makes America great again.

“Are you a Trump Republican,” he asked, “or are you a Reagan Republican? Because you cannot be both.”

Reagan said he hopes his nasty attacks on other candidates hurt him with the voters and added that more candidates should be calling him out for this stuff.

Trump has compared himself to Reagan on the campaign trail before, saying that both of them used to be Democrats before switching over.
