Vice President-elect Mike Pence went to see Hamilton tonight, because every single politician is apparently seeing the show these days, and he was greeted by some boos in the Broadway audience.
Some reports say there was a mix of cheers and booing, which you can hear in the video below:

At #Hamilton. Mike Pence is here and the entire theater just booed him.

And Twitter had quite a lot to say about this:
Pence getting booed at Hamilton bums me out. Whatever you think of him. He’s trying to engage. Could get ideas from far worse places. https://t.co/gn7j25Nuy7

Mike Pence getting lustily booed at "Hamilton" is obviously the endpoint for this goddamn election cycle

Let's also take in: #Hamilton is portrayed by an artist who is a gay man that's been bravely honest & open about his HIV status. Ok Pence?

Two things you need to understand about Mike Pence getting booed at Hamilton tonight. 1) Most attendees aren't NYCers. 2) He deserves it. >

Why do we assume people booing Pence was political. Maybe he was just opening his candy bar too loudly.

Lafayette: "Immigrants!"
Hamilton/Lafayette: "We get the job done!"
Pence: *shifts uncomfortably in his seat*— Tyler Oakley (@tyleroakley) November 19, 2016
I’m sorry but Mike “Let’s Convert The Gays” Pence doesn’t get to complain about being booed on Broadway. https://t.co/UcFP7PMb0y

Don't come into a Broadway theater trailing this filth and expect the audience to jump up and sing "Hello, Dolly." https://t.co/cnHS97GdaR
