Mitch McConnell Apparently Has No Idea Trump Already Announced Don McGahn’s White House Exit

Mitch McConnell released a statement about the reports that Don McGahn will soon leave the White House, but then again, the news is more than just a report now, thanks to President Trump.

Axios released an article earlier today saying the White House counsel will step aside after Brett Kavanaugh is confirmed to the Supreme Court, or once the midterm elections are over. The news made waves on its own earlier today, but soon enough, Trump got on Twitter and said the report was true:

The president’s tweet pretty much confirms the news from Axios, but McConnell apparently didn’t know this happened before releasing a message that the development is “a big loss” and “sad news for the country.”

The McConnell statement comes after Senate Judiciary Committee Chairman Chuck Grassley implored for Trump to say the news wasn’t true.
