Mitch McConnell Gifts Tom Coburn with a Gun on CPAC Stage

Senator Tom Coburn (R-OK) got a retirement gift at CPAC this morning: a big ol’ gun.

The moment was captured by OpenSecrets’ Robert Maguire, who tweeted out a photo of Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell gifting Coburn with the gun. According to ABC’s Jeff Zeleny, the gift was a Lifetime Achievement Award from the NRA.

Coburn is retiring at the end of this congressional session, after continuing battles with cancer.
