MSNBC’s Malcolm Nance drew heat for his response to the explosions outside the airport in the Afghan capital of Kabul on Thursday.

“20 YEARS- FYI there have been terrorist suicide bombers killing civilians nearly DAILY in Afghanistan. This ain’t new. It’s why we are leaving. #DealWithIt,” he tweeted.

As a result of the explosions, 12 U.S. service members were killed and 15 others were injured – the deadliest attack against the U.S. military for Afghanistan since Aug. 6, 2011 and the first casualties of U.S. troops since Feb. 8, 2020. In total, 90 people were killed, while 150 others were injured in the explosions. ISIS-K, the Islamic State branch in South and Central Asia, has claimed credit for the attack.

Verified Twitter users slammed Nance’s tweet.

UPDATE 5:42 pm ET: Later on Thursday, Nance deleted the tweet and posted an apology thread.
